Jenny selected Jackie Craig as our first selection in the People We Admire series, because of the incredible impact she makes in Wake County and beyond. Trained in real estate home staging, Jackie consistently found that homeowners had too much stuff in their houses – stuff that was too good to toss, but no longer needed. In 2010, Jackie co-founded The Green Chair Project, a nonprofit that delivers re-purposed furniture, home goods and other essentials to those starting a new chapter of their lives after surviving homelessness, natural disasters, domestic violence, aging out of foster care, incarceration or other crises. Jackie’s work helps families in transition turn an empty house into a place they can call home.

It’s Jackie’s ambition, total dedication and fiery drive that makes us truly admire her. She is an incredible person at Green Chair and out, and truly cares about the human spirit, the human condition and the community we all call home.
